Opera House Manchester saves the last dance for you

Discover the remarkable story of the Drifters and the truth about the woman who made them. From the highs of hit records to the lows of legal battles and personal tragedy, Faye Treadwell is the legendary manager of The Drifters who refused to give up on the group she loved.

Based on an idea by Treadwell’s daughter, Tina, the jukebox musical has a book by Ed Curtis. It was co-created by Adam J Bernard, Tarinn Callender, Matt Henry, Beverley Knight, and Tosh Wanogho-Maud, all of whom starred in the original production, which premiered in Newcastle, ahead of a West End transfer.

The tour cast is led by Carly Mercedes Dyer, who won a WhatsOnStage Award and was nominated for an Olivier Award for the recent revival of Anything Goes.

The Drifters are portrayed by Miles Anthony Daley (The Voice UK), Ashford Campbell (The X Factor, as a member of The Risk), Dalton Harris (winner of Digicel Rising Stars and the latest winner of The X Factor), and Tarik Frimpong (The Little Mermaid).

Girl is played by Jaydah Bell-Ricketts, who starred in the UK premiere concert of A Little Princess.

Nominated for Best New Musical at the 2022 Olivier Awards, this smash-hit show has a phenomenal soundtrack packed full of iconic Drifters hits, including Saturday Night At The Movies, Save The Last Dance For Me and Ben E. King’s Stand By Me.

Thirty years, and hundreds of hit songs later, there is no doubt that Faye Treadwell was and always will be The Drifters Girl.

The Drifters Girl runs at Opera House Manchester from October 10 to 14 2023 and tours the UK until May 11 2024.
