We Don’t Speak: Jsky and Night Thomas finally release the song that set Manchester Pride on fire

Manchester icon Jsky is celebrating 10 years of music, and 5 years of Manchester Pride, with ‘We Don’t Speak’ brand-new single featuring local legend Night Thomas.

An electric soul anthem, ‘We Don’t Speak is quite different to Jsky’s previous material; it represents how much he has grown as an artist over the past decade.

Manchester’s premier broadcaster and baritone recording artist Jsky storms into 2026 with the global release of his highly anticipated new single ‘We Don’t Speak’ on 13th March. Featuring fellow Black queer house music titan Night Thomas – the artist behind the Traxsource #1 hit ‘Night Star’ – the track is a sophisticated amalgamation of electronic soul, pop, house, and R&B designed for a modern audience.

The release arrives during what is shaping up to be one of the most significant years of Jsky’s career, following a run of high‑profile cultural moments across the city and beyond. The release marks a pivotal chapter for the Manchester artist, following a lustrum on the live circuit.

The banger was debuted last summer during Jsky’s headline performance on the Mardi Gras stage at Manchester Pride, marking his historic fifth consecutive year headlining the event. I arrived just in time for the set, and I was blown away by the Black XXXcellence onstage.

The single also lands as Jsky prepares to deliver a TED Talk at TEDxNorthernQuarter, where he will explore themes of identity and resilience. These themes echo through ‘We Don’t Speak’, a track that looks back on past relationships, examines the power of silence, setting boundaries and choosing personal peace – a narrative that aligns with his growing role as a voice for LGBTQ+ empowerment and mental wellbeing.

“‘We Don’t Speak’ is a reflective ode. The song is about growth. It’s about knowing when to speak and when to step back, and how powerful that choice can be. Night Thomas and I both share that journey — we’ve both had to define ourselves on our own terms.” – Jsky

“I have always been inspired by Jsky. He has consistently paved the way for Black queer artists to exist authentically. To join him on this record is a powerful moment for the scene.” – Night Thomas

While ‘We Don’t Speak’ looks firmly to the future, it also serves as a celebration of over ten years in the music industry for the artist. Since the release of his debut solo single “Liv” in 2015, Jsky has evolved into a nationally recognised BBC presenter and fashion trailblazer, consistently using his platform to advocate for LGBTQ+ representation.

“I wanted ‘We Don’t Speak’ to be a modern sound for a modern audience—blending the energy of the dancefloor with the vulnerability of soul,” says Jsky. “It’s about the strength it takes to keep moving forward.”

Dark and sexy – ‘We Don’t Speak’ is Jsky at his best.

‘We Don’t Speak’ will be available on all major streaming platforms on March 13.
